Priorities
Fiscal Responsibility
As your councilmember, I will work to ensure Edmonds lives within its means and uses taxpayer dollars wisely. Fiscal responsibility means setting clear priorities and making sure resources are directed to core services like public safety, infrastructure, and parks. I believe in smarter budgeting that plans for the long term, protects taxpayers, and ensures accountability in every decision. Our residents work hard for their money, and they deserve a city government that respects that commitment.
Nonpartisan Leadership
Local government should be about people and solutions, not partisan politics. On the City Council, I will listen to all perspectives and work with anyone who brings good ideas forward, regardless of party. Edmonds deserves leaders who focus on solving problems, finding common ground, and keeping our community’s priorities at the forefront. I am committed to putting residents first and ensuring that politics never gets in the way of progress.
Public Safety
Safety is the foundation of a strong and thriving community. I will support responsible investment in our police and fire services to ensure they have the staffing, training, and tools needed to keep Edmonds safe. At the same time, I will push for careful management of resources so we maximize effectiveness while maintaining accountability. Whether it’s crime prevention, emergency response, or disaster preparedness, public safety must remain a top priority.
Smart Growth
Growth is inevitable, but it must be managed with care. I believe Edmonds can welcome new housing and businesses while preserving the small-town charm and character that residents love. Smart growth means thoughtful planning for density, maintaining livability, and protecting our environment. By focusing on balanced, sustainable development, we can meet housing needs and support economic growth without losing what makes Edmonds unique.
Small Business Support
Small businesses are at the heart of Edmonds’ economy and community character. I will work to reduce barriers, streamline processes, and oppose any new city B&O tax that makes it harder for our entrepreneurs to succeed. Instead, the city should be a partner to small business owners, providing support that allows them to grow, hire, and continue contributing to the vitality of our neighborhoods.
Quality of Life
Edmonds is defined by its natural beauty, cultural vibrancy, and strong sense of community. I will protect our parks, waterfront, and public spaces so they remain treasures for generations to come. Supporting arts, culture, and recreation not only enhances residents’ quality of life but also attracts visitors and strengthens our local economy. Preserving these assets is essential to keeping Edmonds a special place to live, work, and visit.
Transparency and Community Engagement
Trust in local government begins with openness and accountability. I will champion clear, accessible reporting so residents understand how decisions are made and where their tax dollars go. Just as important, leadership starts with listening. I will ensure every resident — from longtime neighbors to young families — has real opportunities to share their perspectives and help shape city policies. By fostering genuine engagement and making government more transparent, we can build confidence, create consensus, and ensure that decisions reflect the values of our entire Edmonds community.
